Read Banned. Read Bold. Read Freely.

Some stories make people uncomfortable. Some challenge the way we think. Some give a voice to people who have historically been told to stay quiet. And sometimes, those are exactly the books we need most.

In honor of Banned Books Week, we’re highlighting books that have been banned, challenged, restricted, or targeted in schools and libraries across the country. From beloved classics to contemporary stories exploring race, identity, gender, sexuality, history, and the wonderfully complicated experience of being human, these books have one thing in common: someone thought you shouldn’t read them.

Naturally, we think you should decide that for yourself.

Browse our Banned Books Week collection, get curious, read widely, question everything, and maybe pick up the book someone worked very hard to keep out of your hands.

Because the freedom to read is always worth defending. 📚🔥
