Back the Bookshop

Hello friends,

I’m writing with something that feels both exciting and a little vulnerable to share.

For the past few years, Odd Bird Bookshop has lived online and through pop-ups—connecting readers, families, and our community through stories. What started as a dream has slowly grown into something real, and now I’m ready to take the next step: opening a brick-and-mortar bookstore in downtown Bel Air.

To help make this possible, I’ve launched a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo to raise $10,000 to build the foundation of the shop.

Your support will help fund things like:
• Bookshelves and fixtures
• Our initial book inventory (new and used)
• Signage and store setup
• Our point-of-sale system
• A community grand opening celebration

Odd Bird Bookshop isn’t meant to be a big-box bookstore experience. The vision is a cozy, welcoming space where kids can discover books, neighbors can gather for author events and book clubs, and our community can connect through stories.

If Odd Bird has meant something to you—or if you simply believe independent bookstores matter—I would be incredibly grateful if you’d consider supporting the campaign.

Even small contributions help move this forward, and sharing the campaign with friends and fellow book lovers makes a huge difference too.

This bookstore will exist because of community. Because of readers like you.

Thank you for being part of chapter one and for believing in what Odd Bird Bookshop can become.

With gratitude,
Jessica

P.S. If donating isn’t possible right now, sharing the campaign with someone who loves books is another powerful way to help us open these doors.
