Many years ago, I was in a dark place in my life. I was in a depression, and it was difficult to get out of it. My therapist recommended that I begin and end my day with a Gratitude Journal. I went through several iterations of how I captured my thoughts. For me, I set aside 5 minutes. Sometimes at the beginning of the day, sometimes at the end, and occasionally both. You should find the rhythm that feels right to you. Experiment with several options, until you find your grove.

From years of therapy myself, I have found that these questions have been instrumental in my mental health.

It allows me to consciously focus on the things that are most important to me and realize that there are so many things that I have been able to make progress in. If you don't buy my book, I do encourage you to find a book that suits you.

As an extra thing I like to do, I then take the word of the day at the end of each day, put it into a spreadsheet and build a heat chart. This then will show the words that show up the most for me. It has been a nice addition to helping me see the long term positives in my life.
